An Easy Peasy Easter Craft...

For my birthday my husband conspired to get me the most awesomest gift! He and my friends pitched in and bought me a Silhouette!!! For those of you who haven't been lusting after one of these, it's an electronic cutting tool that helps you to create endless crafts. Once I got my machine hooked up and semi figured out how to use it I wanted to create something right away. Easter is almost here and I needed to put up some decorations. So I downloaded a bunny design from the online Silhouette store, picked out some happy spring scrapbook paper and made bunny cutouts using my new machine. Then I took two silver dollar store trays and spray painted them white. Then I simply used some double stick tape (I didn't want them to be real permanent) to secure my bunnies to the trays and then placed them on my shelf inside a plate stand. Here's the result....

Easter Shelf

Don't have a fancy cutting machine? No worries...there is another way to get this look. Print out a bunny shape from your computer and cut it out. Next simply trace the cut out onto the scrapbook paper you have chosen. Then cut out the shape from your scrapbook paper then follow the rest of the steps from above. Doing it this way does require a steady hand to cut but if it's not perfect it will still be cute! So like I said an easy peasy Easter craft for those of you who waited till the last minute like I did!

P.S. I'm sure there will be a large amount of craft inspiration coming to the blog since I got my new machine! I feel like there's no end to what I can create! I love the feeling of crafting power!

Celebrating The Day....

I realize I have been extremely absent from the blog the past couple weeks and I would normally apologize but I won't today because........

So today (and well the rest of the week!!!) I will be celebrating my birthday. I am going to try and enjoy myself, get some much needed rest, and try not to be too bummed out that it's raining! I do promise to be back next week with some posts about this crazy month, all the wonderful birthdays we celebrated, and how my birthday plans went! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Boasting About My Weakness...

I read this scripture this week...
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT

So this got me thinking, not about my weaknesses but about Christ's strength through them.
I am currently weak in body.....But God gives me strength to do all things Phillipians 4:13
I am judgemental.....But God gives me grace to love 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
I am fearful of others thoughts towards me.....But God's thoughts toward me are wonderful Jeremiah 29:11 Psalm 139:14
I know I have weaknesses but in those dark places in my life there is a But God.....So I boast in my weaknesses, like "Hey ya'll, I'm not perfect, I can be a sucky person sometimes". In admitting my faults and putting them out there I give God power to work through them. Only He can turn our weaknesses into power, into joy, into help for others. So I put on love, I wear it proud, I admit my weaknesses, I boast in them proudly knowing I'm a work in progress.

Speaking of love and such...
We had a lovely day at the park that included sunglasses, a long walk, and sonic happy hour!
Okay, so horrible picture for an outfit post but...

Thursday Thoughts...

Thursday thoughts...a post where I list all the random things I've been thinking about, contemplating, enjoying, stressing about, etc. Have some random thoughts of your own? Share em' with me!

As my birthday approaches I wonder if 28 is really worse than 27...cause it sure sounds bad to me:(

No matter how much laundry I do there flows an abundance out of every room, someone stop the madness!!!

As much as my mind is wanting to get things done my body just will not cooperate.

Planning weddings feeds my soul in a strange and wonderful way.

It's unbelievable how cute my little Luke is while he is sleeping...melts mama's heart.

Reading "Bringing up Boys" by James Dobson is making me realize what a huge responsibility I have in raising a son but I know that God can help me do it right.

I hate the rain. No matter how positive I try and be about it...I just plain hate it.

Sometimes the relationship God offers us seems to good to be true, but lucky for us it's totally real!

Hope you enjoyed the excess of my brain from this week! If you have something to share let me hear it!

Take a hike...

We are fortunate enough to live in an area that is full of recreation. We live near mountains and lakes and lots of beautiful places. My husband and son looove the outdoors so this last weekend we took a short drive to a nearby waterfall. We had sunshine, snacks, our cameras, and Luke had energy to burn! We had a great time soaking up the sun and enjoying God's creation. And since winter has decided to come in March around here I'm enjoying looking at these photos where the sun was still shining...

On Our Way!!!

Hope your day is blessed! Sorry for the lack of posts around here. March is a crazy month filled with lots of loved ones birthdays, we call it second Christmas round here...ya it's that nuts!
See you soon!

A Happy Birthday...

Yesterday was my true loves birthday, he turned 28! I can't believe how old we're getting, and my turn is just a few weeks away! This man of mine is some kind of wonderful. I can't say enough about how great he is, what a great husband he is, and what a great dad he is. Luke and I are so blessed that he's ours. I won't go any further with the mushy stuff, I promised hubby I wouldn't over share about him on here, lol! So to celebrate yesterday we took our dog and our little guy to the park, went to Sonic for happy hour, browsed the hardware store, ate a yummy dinner, opened presents, and finished the night by letting him pick anything he wanted to watch on netflix (sometimes we spend a half hour trying to agree on what to watch!). I wanted to do a little something special for him, so I wrote out 28 reasons why I love him and tied them to balloons and let them float above our bed like this...

Luke was lovin' the balloons! We played and had fun with them before daddy got home!

And then we got a little carried away with the pictures! I love my lttle guy, he is joy overflowing!
So happy birthday to my wonderful husband, my life is blessed because of you!

A Purse Auction...

We had the greatest fundraiser for our ladies group on Saturday! This year we held our 2nd Annual Purse Auction. The ladies in our church donated purses, each filled with goodies along a certain theme. We invited friends and family and auctioned the purses off. All the bags were so cute and it was so much fun to see ladies "fighting" over the purse they wanted! We raised more money than we did last year at this event and were so blessed! Here are some pictures of the event...
Tables set for the ladies to sit and enjoy goodies during the acution
Adorable place setting and "purse" paddles
 Plenty of treats for everyone!
 Some of my favorite purses:
 Chocolate and Coffee theme
This black one was called "Citrus Burst!"
A "Reader's Delight" filled with journals and books
And yes, there was even a man bag!
This one was called "Jane's pouch...you know Tarzan's friend!" So adorable!

Such a great fundraiser, not too much work and it was a lot more fun than some of the things we've done in the past. Thought I would share some of the fun with you! Happy Tuesday!
